Profession of Faith

D.         We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of Heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord, Jesus Christ, Son of God, born of God the Father, only begotten before all ages. God from God, light from light, true God from true God, begotten but not made. The same being of one substance with the Father. By Whom all things were made in Heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible. Who for us men and for our salvation, came down from Heaven, became incarnate, and was made man, was born perfectly of the Holy Virgin Mary by the Holy Spirit, by whom He took body, soul and mind, and all that is in man, truly and not figuratively. He suffered, was crucified and was buried; the third day He arose again, He ascended into Heaven with the same body, and sat at the right hand of the Father. He shall come with the same body and in the glory of the Father to judge both the living and the dead; Whose Kingdom shall have no end.

We believe also in the Holy Spirit, not made and all perfect, Who proceeds from the Father and the Son.- Who spoke in the Law, in the Prophets and in the Gospels. Who descended upon the Jordan, preached through the Apostles, and dwelt in the Saints.

We believe in one only, Catholic and Apostolic Church, in one baptism and penance for the expiation and remission of sins in the resurrection of the dead; and everlasting judgment of souls and bodies- the Kingdom of Heaven and life everlasting,

C.         As for us, we shall glorify Him Who was in all ages, adoring the Holy Trinity and one Divinity of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, now and forever and ever. Amen.

The Faithful sit,

D.         Again in peace let us beseech the Lord.

CH.      Lord, have mercy.

D.         Again in faith let us beseech and ask of our Lord God and Saviour, Jesus Christ, at this hour of service and prayers, that He may make them worthy of acceptance; may the Lord hearken to the voice of our supplications: may He receive the requests of our hearts; may He forgive our trespasses and have mercy on us.

CH.      Save, O Lord.

C.         That we may be made worthy to give thanks to the Lord and to glorify Him with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.

C.         Peace be with you all.

CH.      And with your spirit.

D.         Let us bow down before God.

CH.      In the presence of God.

C.         Through Your peace which passes all understanding, fortify us, O Christ, our redeemer, and secure us from all evil. include us in the number of Your true adorers, who worship You in spirit and truth; for to the most Holy Trinity is due glory, power and honour, now and forever and ever. Amen.

Blessed be our Lord Jesus Christ!

Bless us, Father,

May the Lord God bless you all.

         Amen.
